Mission statement for Blended Kenpo:
To make techniques found in Kenpo usable in a real self defense situation.
This will be done through conditioning of the mind and extremely high repetitions of technical drills. Drills will include standard Kenpo techniques with only the snap kick, scoop kick, wheel kick and side thrust being kept in Blended Kenpo.
Incorporated into this system will be hands from boxing, muay thai clinch work, and three muay thai kicks, along with elbows and knees from Thailand’s wonderful system.
Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu will be used for the ground work. To achieve a black belt in Blended Kenpo, you will need to have a purple mimimum in Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
I have been tailoring my Kenpo techniques since 1993 and I will continue to always change them if I find something very useful. To change is human, to change is to learn. I am not claiming to have the best system of self defense out there, I just want to make Blended Kenpo a legitimate fighting system.
